Ellie Goulding breaks silence about wedding day in touching tribute to the 'love of her life'

Ellie Goulding is in post-wedding bliss after marrying Caspar Jopling in a star-studded ceremony on Saturday.

And the Love Me Like You Do warbler, 32, has broken her silence on their big day in a touching Instagram post.

She shared a stunning snap of the pair kissing at the altar after tying the knot at York Minster cathedral

Her family and friends were stood up from their seats and clapping as the happy couple locked lips.

Ellie paid tribute to the 'love of her life' as she thanked her famous friends for travelling to York to see them get married.

The singer said: "This weekend I married the love of my life, in God’s own country, surrounded by the people I cherish.

"Overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you eternally to everyone involved in such a special time, including every single person that traveled from far and wide to come and celebrate with us at York Minster- a place that my husband and his family hold close to their hearts.

"I will never forget your support and generosity. We both send you all so much love and a massive hug xx."

The stunning image quickly went viral, wracking up over 250,000 likes in less than an hour.

Her famous pals left a string of gushing comments and messages of congratulations.

Body Coach Joe Wilkes said: "Most amazing day ever. Congratulations Ellie and Casper."

Jools Oliver left four love hearts, while Joe Jonas commented streamer emojis.

Ellie and Caspar tied the knot at York Minster in front of family and friends, as well as royalty and famous faces from the entertainment industry.

Among the guests at the cathedral were Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, James Blunt and his wife Sofie Wellesley, and Sienna Miller and her boyfriend Lucas Zwirner.

Sarah Ferguson was also there with her daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice.
