Ellen Degeneres has dedicated a heartfelt Facebook post to her wife Portia de Rossi as the pair celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary.
The couple tied the knot on August 17, 2008 at their Los Angeles home in the presence of just 19 guests.
The 61-year-old TV host celebrated their special day with a black-and-white throwback picture from their wedding day.
Writing alongside the happy snap, Ellen said: “Happy anniversary, Portia. 11 years. My favorite number with my favorite person.”.
In the gorgeous photo, the couple are seen laughing as Portia, 46, clutches the skirt of her wedding dress.
Ellen is seen standing alongside her in a white pant suit, looking equally delighted.
The post was inundated with messages of congratulations from fans, with one writing: “Happy anniversary to you Ellen. Some of us can’t even celebrate 2months of relationship. Finding the right person to grow old with is hard these days.”
Another said: “Happy anniversary Ellen and Portia! Thank you both for being so open with your love, combating ignorance, and teaching everyone to find the fun and humor in life. May God continue to bless you both with a lifetime of happiness and love.”
The happy couple’s 11th wedding anniversary comes just four months before they will mark 16 years since they began dating.
Last December, Ellen attempted to mark their 15th dating anniversary by hiring a plane to fly a banner message over their house.
However, the banner was too small to read leaving Ellen and Portia in hysterics.
At the time, Ellen shared a video of the failed attempt at romance, writing: “Portia and I started dating 15 years ago today.
“I hired a plane to fly by the house with a banner that said 15 with a heart… I should have specified the size.”
Ellen and Portia announced their marriage in 2008 almost immediately after California’s Supreme Court legalised same-sex marriage.
