Elizabeth Warren says her skincare secret is never washing her face

Democratic Presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren talked to Cosmopolitan about important issues including healthcare, equal pay, the climate crisis... and her simple beauty routine.

She reveals that her skincare routine simply involves Pond's Moisturizer "every morning, every night" but the real secret to her selfie-ready skin is that shat she "never" washes her face, which Cosmo EIC Jessica Pels describes as "a very French thing."

Warren explains, "So I have—had, she’s passed now—but a much older cousin named Tootsie. Years ago, I was, I guess probably somewhere in my 20s, and we’re at a big family reunion. And Tootsie was beautiful. I looked over at her, and I said, 'Toots, how do you have such gorgeous skin?' She said, 'Pond’s Moisturizer every morning, every night, and never wash your face.' So from Tootsie to me to you."

Her response immediately started making the rounds on Twitter, with commenters writing, "I’m gonna need my next president to be more detailed with their face wash routine" and "I think this works for those already blessed with lovely skin."

Warren was also featured in a viral Twitter thread comparing candidates to beauty products. Joe Biden was St Ives Apricot Scrub and Mayor Pete was Drunk Elephant Marula Oil. Warren was a Glamglow Supermud Mask.

She's not the only politician to drop her beauty routine. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezo took to Instagram to share her skincare routine.

She also talked about her fitness routine and says she wants to up her daily mileage and "go from six and a half miles to seven every day." As a reminder, Warren is 70 and more active than most members of Gen Z.

Other important topics she touches on include which Little Women sister she is (unsurprisingly, Jo), Dunkin' Donuts over Starbucks, her golden retriever, Bailey, who would be First Dog, and her astrological sign - she's a Cancer.
