Elizabeth Warren: Mueller report contains enough information to start impeachment proceedings

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) concluded her speech on the Senate floor Tuesday by asking for Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

"This is not about politics. This is about the Constitution. We took an oath not to try to protect Donald Trump, we took an oath to protect the Constitution. And the way we do that is we begin impeachment proceedings now against this president."

Why it matters: Warren, who has already called for Trump's impeachment on Twitter and the campaign trail, said the basis for impeaching the president for obstruction of justice is "black and white" in the Mueller report. "If any other human being in this country had done what's documented in the Mueller report, they would be arrested and put in jail," she said.
