Elijah Collins, Darrell Stewart on Pro Football Focus Big Ten Team of the Week

Mark this day down in your calendars, because it may never happen again.

Michigan State has two offensive players on the Pro Football Focus Big Ten Team of the Week and ZERO defensive players.

That happening would have been unheard of in East Lansing one week ago, but here we are. It’s a well deserved honor for Collins and Stewart. Collins broke out against Western Michigan, leading MSU with 192 rushing yards, which was tops in the conference this week. PFF says 115 of those yards came after contact, with an absurd 6.76 yards after contact per attempt.

Stewart also had a banner day reeling in ten catches for 185 yards and a touchdown. Stewart made a few tough catches against the Broncos and according to PFF he gained 72 yards after the catch.

As for the defense, it’s not the biggest surprise no defenders made the first team, although the unit still played well, despite giving up some decent yardage through the air. Linebacker Tyriq Thompson, cornerback Josh Butler and Safety Xavier Henderson all made the PFF second team.
