Eli, Peyton Manning enjoying retirement at Spyglass Hill

Retired New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning and his brother, NFL legend Peyton Manning, have embraced retirement in grand style this week, taking part in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament at the Spyglass Hill Golf Course.

The two appeared loose and fun-loving as they took their swings and shared stories of some of their better pranks — many of which were carried out on each other.

Manning cracked wise over an atomic wedgie he was able to pull off on his sleeping brother, while Peyton recounted forcing a young Eli to recite SEC teams, NFL and yes, even cigarette brands.

“That’s important for an 8-year-old to know,” a sarcastic Peyton said.

Peyton also joked that Eli’s golf game has notable improved, to which Eli credited the extra time he found this past season.

“He’s been on the golf simulator up there in New York. I think he might have snuck out for a couple rounds this season,” Peyton said.

“I had a little more free time, so I took advantage of it,” Eli cracked.

Ultimately, Peyton said, retirement fits Eli.

“He looked five years younger,” Peyton said. “That told me it was the right decision.”
