Eli Manning remembered getting ruthlessly heckled by a 9-year-old Eagles fan

Eli Manning has played 16 games in Philadelphia during his NFL career. If there’s anyone who knows about the wrath of Eagles fans, it’s probably Eli.

When you’ve been around the rivalry as long as Eli has, Eagles fans are bound to direct all their Giants hatred at him. That apparently includes 9-year-old fans.

Manning spoke with Max Gomez in an NYIT Center for Sports Medicine/Head Injury Association panel discussion, and he offered a hilarious memory of getting heckled by the meanest 9-year-old Eagles fan.

He said of Philadelphia, via newsday.com:

“You go there, and that 9-year-old kid is giving you the double finger,” he said. “Not a thumbs-up. Not, ‘We’re No. 1.’ And he said something about my mom; I had to Google what it was. It’s just different. It’s a different culture.”

I can only imagine Eli being so shaken by a comment from a 9-year-old that he had to look up what was said. There’s some young Eagles fan out there who can take great pride in rattling the Giants quarterback.

During the same discussion, Eli offered his first public remarks since the Odell Beckham trade. He admitted that Beckham was probably the most gifted teammate he’s played with.
