Eli Manning isn’t fond of 9-year-old middle finger raising Eagles fans

We can only imagine the reception Eli Manning will receive this year from the young Eagles fans who are expected to fully serenade him with boos in what will likely be his final NFL season. Eli Manning is a member of the first family of football, so he’s used to the hate from opposing teams. During a sitdown with Newsday, Manning opened up about the treatment he receives on the road.

His biggest gripe is with Eagles fans, specifically those 10 and under, who love to give him the middle finger and talk trash about his mom.

“You go there, and that 9-year-old kid is giving you the double finger,” [Manning] said. “Not a thumbs-up. Not, ‘We’re No. 1.’ And he said something about my mom; I had to Google what it was. It’s just different. It’s a different culture.”

Manning went on to talk about the strength of Philly’s culture, and how fans pass the middle finger tradition down from generation to generation.

“Now I see [that 9-year-old] and he’s got his 9-year-old kid with him,” Manning said, smiling. “Same deal. It runs in the families down there.”

Eagles fans don’t fret, the Giants winningest quarterback in franchise history just expressed his infatuation with Philadelphia’s version of brotherly love.
