Elgton Jenkins NFL draft profile

Elgton Jenkins | OL | Mississippi State

Height | 6-4

Weight | 310

Class | Senior

College Bio

Jenkins played in 49 games, started 34, and was the heart and soul up front for the Bulldogs, going up against some of the nation’s most prolific defensive linemen. Jenkins played 26 games at center, five at left tackle, two at left guard and one at right tackle. He allowed just one sack in 762 pass-blocking snaps at center during his junior and senior seasons.

Jenkins is a sticky blocker in pass protection and in running game, using his strong hands, power at the point of attack, and fundamentally sound approach to keep defenders busy. Jenkins is successful in combo blocks and efforts to climb to the second level. He needs a dash of technique work for his transition to the pro game, which include better hand placement and leverage, but there aren’t many glaring weaknesses to his game.

Overall, Jenkins is highly coveted offensive line prospect due to his movement skills, brute strength, stout anchor offering a collegiate resume filled with versatility – will be an immediate upgrade on the field, projecting as a starter at guard or center.
