Elfingrove to have Marshmallow Land and Candy Bar at Christmas extravaganza

Christmas extravaganza Elfingrove is set to launch next week - and it's going to be incredible.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum , in Glasgow, will be transformed into a winter wonderland throughout December and January for Elfingrove .

The event will play host to a marvel of food and drink delights including the Candy Bar and Marshmallow land.

A Candy Bar area will have cosy firepits for people to enjoy as they take a break from getting in the festive spirit at Elfingrove.

Those getting into the Christmas spirit will be treated to some goodies including Baileys Hot Chocolate , gin hot toddies and mulled wine.

Marshmallow land will transport you to a magical fairy-lit world dedicated entirely to Marshmallows where you can toast skewers around a fire pit.

Tickets for Elfingrove go on sale at 7.30am today (itison)

The fairy-lit Winter Wonderland will be home to some of the best names in Glasgow’s thriving food scene, including dessert sensations Loop and Scoop and Three Sisters Bake; plus Shrimpwreck, The Cheesy Toast Shack, Freddy & Hicks, Nomad Pizza and more.

The show will include a 70 to 90 minute journey through  Elfingrove  where magical sounds and lights will bring inhabitants alive.

It will culminate in a spectacular finale where the true magic of the festive period is revealed as you discover an ancient secret.

The Winter Wonderland will make up the third part of the Elfingrove show and will feature the UK’s first Silent Snow Disco, where you can dance under the snow inside a giant snow globe plus some more all singing, all dancing surprises.

Elfingrove launches next Thursday, December 5.

Over 120,000 tickets were 24 hours last week, and following phenomenal demand an additional seven nights have been added.

Dates for Elfingrove have been extended to run from the December 5 – January 5 after unprecedented demand for the inaugural event (excluding 24 – 26 Dec and 31 Dec – 2 January).

Oli Norman, CEO of itison and creator of GlasGLOW who has invested £1 million in the event said: " I’ve spent the last few weeks with the elves tasting every single drink at The Candy Bar.

"It’s been a hard job, but after several late nights making them just right (and getting our Silent Snow Disco playlist ready!) we can’t wait to welcome everyone."
