Elf musical spectacular set for Glasgow's Hydro this Christmas - and here's where you can get tickets

When Buddy the Elf first passed through seven levels of the Candy Cane Forest, he probably had no idea he would become an absolute Christmas legend.

But 16 years on from the iconic film's release, Elf is now a Christmas classic and a firm favourite with families during the festive season.

In fact, the film is so popular it has spawned its own Broadway musical, Elf - A Christmas Spectacular, and the best news ever is that Buddy fans can see him live on stage this year in Glasgow at The Hydro .

Soap star and singer Kym Marsh is taking centre stage in the adaptation which has been supersized for the stage into a Christmas spectacle complete with 100 characters and a flying sleigh.

The festive frolic will be on at The Hydro on December 14 and 15 , with two shows on the 14th, and will bring fun for all the family to life on stage.

Elf tells the heartwarming tale of how Buddy the human - who was raised by Santa's elves in the North Pole - travels to New York to find his real father.

Along the way, he falls in love and brings Christmas joy to the city.

Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh will star as Buddy the Elf’s girlfriend, Jovie, and Shaun Williamson of EastEnders and Extras will take on the role of Buddy’s dad Walter Hobbs.

Buddy the Elf will be played by comedy actor Tam Ryan.

The cast of 100 also features Father Christmas, and a dozen Cirque stars.

As if that wasn't enough, the production has has three stages, meaning the audience is always near the action and includes a giant 30-foot Christmas tree, and plenty of stunts to dazzle the audience.

There will also be huge TV screens displaying all the action as well as CGI scenery.

Elf - A Christmas Spectacular is suitable for children aged 3 and above.
