Eleven charged in NSW ski field drug bust

New South Wales police have seized a plethora of drugs and laid 28 charges after a conducting a series of raids in the Snowy Mountains.

Five warrants were executed on Tuesday and Wednesday in Perisher's Smiggin Holes resort village, and in the tourist town of Jindabyne.

Drugs including cannabis, MDMA, ice, cocaine, LSD and psychedelic mushrooms were seized, along with $3,000 cash.

"This operation is a clear indication that drug dealing will not be tolerated within the Monaro Command," Acting Superintendent Inspector Mark Murphy from Monaro Police said.

"It's obviously disappointing that people in our communities are profiting from the sale of illicit drugs, because they obviously have such a significant and devastating effect on our communities.

"It's been a very good result that we've detected these people."

The arrests are part of Strike Force Minnta, established earlier this year to investigate the supply of illicit drugs in the state's snow fields.

The operation, which has been underway for the past two months, has seized more than $10,000 worth of drugs.

Alpine locals among those charged

Two men from Smiggin Holes, aged 22 and 23, have been charged with a dozen drug possession and supply offences between them.

A 26-year-old Jindabyne man has been charged with five offences relating to drug supply, and a 29-year-old woman from Gerroa has been charged with possessing three substances.

They have been granted strict conditional bail.

Three other Monaro residents have been charged with the supply of prohibited drugs.

Those charged will appear in the Cooma Local Court in the coming weeks.
