Elephants take a stroll on Kuvempu varsity campus

Tension prevailed in Kuvempu University at Shankaraghatta near Shivamogga on Sunday evening as two wild elephants took a stroll on the campus.

The students and staff were in shock as the elephants were spotted near the staff quarters, library and the Kuvempu Statue, all prime locations on the campus.

A few people on the campus captured pictures and videos of the elephants roaming.

The university staff informed the Forest Department officials, who rushed to the campus to drive elephants back to forests.

The university hostel staff have asked the students not to step out, said a communication from the university.
