Two men have been charged with murder after a 24-year-old was stabbed to death at a Tube station in London.

Norman Joseph Bertran Tavarez, 24, was found suffering knife wounds after being stabbed at Elephant and Castle station on September 1. He died of his injuries the following day.

Jose Perez Fana, 30, and Kelvin Plata Fana, 22, both of Barking, were charged with murder on Thursday.

They have both also been charged with GBH with intent after a 25-year-old man was also found with serious injuries at the station.

They were extradited from Antwerp, Belgium, and remanded to police custody in the UK, British Transport Police said.

The force said they believe Mr Bertran Tavarez and the 25-year-old, who has now made a full recovery, had tried to flee after a brawl broke out between two groups of men inside the station.

Mr Bertran Tavarez was the 97th person to be killed in the capital this year.
