Electronic voice interrupts PMQs stating 'the test is now complete'

An electronic speaker made a bizarre interruption in the Commons when it announced “the test is now complete” during PMQs.

The voice rang out as Tory MP Antoinette Sanbach was asking a question about bereavement.

She asked the PM to welcome an evaluation that said nine in 10 parents that have suffered the loss off a child felt they were treated sensitively and with respect.

As she got to the end of her first sentence the electronic announcement said: “May I have your attention please.

“May I have your attention please.

“The test is now complete.”

As Ms Sandbach and other MPs began to laugh, speaker John Bercow smiled then called for order.

He said: “And the honourable lady has passed the test with flying colours.”

Ms Sandback replied: “Not only has the honourable lady pass the test, Mr Speaker, but so did the national bereavement care pathway.”

MPs cheered this statement and she continued her question after the brief interjection.
