Electronic sign on Chicago's Lake Shore Drive changed to read, 'Kill cops'

CHICAGO _ An electronic message board along Lake Shore Drive near Soldier Field was changed overnight to read, "Kill cops," according to Chicago police.

The vandalism was reported around 6:20 a.m. Friday but police spokeswoman Karie James said it was not known how long it had been up.

Crews from the Streets and Sanitation Department were sent to the scene and turned off the sign, James said.

The sign had been altered manually by a keyboard, not hacked electronically, she said.
