Emergency services have determined the source of smoke that caused an early morning evacuation from the Canberra Centre.
A fire sparked from an electrical switchboard caused an evacuation of the shopping centre, just after 8am Tuesday.
The area surrounding the building was closed to the public while emergency services investigated, but has since been reopened.
Hazardous materials firefighters undertook atmospheric monitoring and have deemed the area safe.
A spokesperson for ACT Fire and Rescue said no damage had been reported, other than to the switchboard.
All occupants had returned to the building as of 9.50am and all roads in the area had reopened, the spokesperson said.
The fire was not being treated as suspicious.
