Electric Picnic worker Cameron McClements missing after Co Laois music festival

An appeal has been launched to find a Co Down man who was last seen at a music festival in Co Laois .

Cameron McClements, 24, was last spotted in the Abbeyleix area on Tuesday (September 3) after working at the Electric Picnic festival.

The Hillsborough man was involved in the setting up and dismantling of 'glamping tents' at the site.

His friend Callum has told Belfast Live that they are 'worried sick'.

He said: "Someone has got in contact with us after our first appeal to say they saw him in the Abbeyleix area so we believe he could have been heading to Kildare but have no idea why.

"Cameron is approximately 5ft 7ins, slim build and with short brown hair.

"He was last seen wearing blue shorts, a mainly red coloured jacket, red beanie hat and brown hiking boots.

"He had left his phone and wallet behind so is without any form of contact or identification.

"Cameron if you see this please contact your family or friends, we are all very worried about you."

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana in Portlaoise told Belfast Live that they are appealing for assistance in the search for Cameron.

He said: "We wish to seek the publics’ assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 24-year-old Cameron McClements.

"He is described as being 5ft 7ins in height, of slight build, with long brown hair and is unshaven. When last seen he was wearing blue shorts, brown trekking shoes, red beanie cap and a multi-coloured jacket.

"Anyone who has seen Cameron or who can assist in locating him is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 867 4100, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
