Election day weather as Edinburgh goes to the polls: bright at the start, but cloudy and rainy later

Edinburgh's weather is being typically unpredictable this general election day. Almost as unpredictable as the election results themselves, in fact.

The Met Office say:

"Mainly dry, bright start, then cloudy. Rain reaching the Southwest during morning, extending to many places during afternoon and evening.

"Sleet or snow possible on high ground for time. Maximum temperature 6 °C."

An hour-by-hour view of the day shows bright sunshine between 11am and 12pm, so that could be a good time to vote.

The weather turns cloudy after that, with heavy rain from 5pm.

Also, a reminder that Brewdog are offering a free pint to everyone who votes today, so maybe that's somewhere you could shelter from the bad weather later in the day.
