Elderly woman who died after south Leeds crash is named

The woman who died after she was hit by a van in south Leeds has been named as Kath Bichard.

The 75-year-old pedestrian suffered serious head injuries after she was involved in a collision with the silver Vauxhall Vivaro van, at around 5.30pm on Monday, November 4.

She was struck as the van was reversing in New Forrest Way, Middleton, and died in hospital two days later.

Detective Sergeant Fiona Allan, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident or who may have dash cam footage of the incident to come forward.

“Kath’s family have released a picture of her.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact police on 101 and quote log number 1484 of 4 November.
