An elderly woman has tragically died after she was struck by a car in Co Donegal.
The 69-year-old woman was hit while walking at Tinnycahill, Clar at around 8pm on Sunday.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body has been removed to Letterkenny University Hospital. A post-mortem is due to take place.
Gardai are appealing to witnesses of the tragic crash to come forward.
A spokeswoman said: "A technical and forensic examination of the scene is ongoing and the road remains closed to traffic.
"Gardaí are appealing to witnesses to contact Ballyshannon Garda station on 0719858530, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda station."
