Elderly woman taken to hospital after house fire

An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after a house fire in Cinderhill.

Fire crews were called at 8.51pm to reports of the incident in Tilbury Rise.

Two engines from Stockhill were in attendance, the fire service confirmed.

Another from West Bridgford was called to the scene and left.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted to say an elderly woman had been led to safety.

The tweet added that she received treatment for smoke inhalation.

In an update, the service tweeted: "The house fire on Tilbury Rise has now been dealt with and the elderly female has been conveyed to hospital with smoke inhalation by @EMASNHSTrust."

A hose reel and breathing apparatus were used.
