An elderly woman was left collapsed and crying for help on the floor after having her leg broken during a burglary at her home.
Police were called out at around 6.40am on Tuesday, August 4 after receiving reports of a burglary at a home in Lansdowne Road, Atherton in Wigan.
The terrified elderly woman was woken up early from her sleep by a burglar who was ransacking her house.
During the incident, the burglar left the woman outside her home, in pain and crying out for help on the floor after she suffered a fracture to her upper leg.

The burglar stole sentimental and valuable items including jewellery, a laptop and a quantity of cash before escaping.
An investigation is currently underway but so far, no arrests have been made.
DC David Law, of GMP’s Wigan district, said: “The victim must have been terrified. To be targeted in your own home when you are asleep is understandably frightening.
“Not only did this offender break into the victim’s home and steal sentimental and valuable items but they also left the victim in pain on the floor outside her home.
