An elderly woman was injured after being pulled to the ground during a "nasty" broad daylight robbery in east London.
Police were called at 3.16pm on Thursday to reports of an incident in Havering.
Officers went to the scene and found a woman in her 70s injured on the floor at the junction of Station Road, Queens Park Road, Romford.
She had been approached by a man on a bicycle who grabbed her bag without warning and pulled her to the floor before fleeing with it.
The victim was taken to hospital where she was found to have sustained a fracture to her humerus and shoulder. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
Detective Constable Alice Milne, of the Met Police East Area Command Unit, is investigating.
She said: "This was a nasty attack on a lone elderly woman who was out in broad daylight going about her daily life.
"We are working to source any images of the suspect from CCTV but initial descriptions are of a white male, aged in his 20s, who was wearing a black coat and riding a black bike.
"If you were in the area and witnessed the incident, please do call us immediately. It is very likely the suspect may be local and we would urge anyone who thinks they know something to speak to us."
There have been no arrests and enquiries continue
