Elderly Uddingston care home residents need your help to name their snowmen

Two elderly care home residents have been out enjoying the snow in the gardens around the home - and now they are asking for some help to name their cracking snowmen creations.

Jim McDonald, 70, and Ricky Jack, 75, residents at Renaissance Care’s Rosepark Care Home in Uddingston, were chuffed to bits after building their own snowmen amid the wintry conditions that have blanketed the Central Belt recently.

And as their fellow residents have all been enjoying the snow from the windows, the pair were keen to bring a smile to faces and add a special wee touch by heading outside and having a go at creating some wee carrot-nosed new pals.

Annette Frew, activities coordinator at the care home said: “The residents have all been enjoying watching the snow fall from the windows but Jim and Ricky were keen get outside. They had a great time and were very proud of their creations.”

So far 'Jack and Victor' from Still Game are the favourites so far for the snowmen - who look like they'll be staying put for a wee bit to come yet amid the cold snap and predictions of further snow for the Central Belt to come.
