An elderly woman was left 'very shaken' after being pushed to the ground by a thug in a terrifying attempted robbery.
The criminal had watched the 78-year-old withdraw money from a cash machine in the Kincorth area of Aberdeen before she was set upon.
She had taken the money from a machine on the city's Provost Watt Drive around 4pm on Monday when she was approached by a man who tried to take it.
The pensioner was pushed too the ground and the man made off on a white bike in the direction of the nearby playing fields.
Cops are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or anything suspicious in the area at the time.
Detective Constable Christopher Chapman said: “This was an unprovoked attempt to take money from and elderly woman who was left very shaken by what happened.
"She was pushed to the ground and fortunately she was not injured but this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.
“We are appealing to anyone in the area at the time who may have seen this man before or after the incident to get in touch. Or if you know who he is please let us know.
