An elderly man has been missing for more than four months with Scots police are appealing for information

The last confirmed sighting of John Baikie was on February 8 in Perth city centre.

Officer say the 75-year-old "lives a generally solitary lifestyle" and it is "not unusual for him not to be seen for fairly long periods of time".

John is also believed to regularly travel around the country but police say they want to track him down and make sure he is safe.

He is described as about 5ft 9ins, slim build, with white hair and beard, and he wears glasses.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The last confirmed sighting of John was on Tuesday 8th February in Perth city centre.

"He lives a generally solitary lifestyle and likes to travel around the country, so it is not unusual for him not to be seen for fairly long periods of time, however concerns have now been raised for his welfare and we would like to trace him to ensure he is safe and well.

"If you have any information that could assist us, even if it is only a sighting of John since 8th February, please call 101 and let us know.

"Our reference is incident 1985 of 20th May."
