Elderly person killed in crash in west Wales

An elderly person has died after a serious crash in Haverfordwest .

Emergency services were called to Merlin's Bridge roundabout in the town at 11.30am today.

Dyfed-Powys Police has since confirmed that the incident was a fatal one.

The force said the deceased's next-of-kin had not yet been identified.

It has not provided details about the vehicle or vehicles involved and refused to say whether the deceased was male or female and what their age was.

However, despite the limited information, officers still hope members of the public will come forward with infomation.

A force spokeswoman added: "We can confirm the serious collision at the Merlin’s Bridge Roundabout, Haverfordwest, reported at 11.30am today was fatal.

"Sadly, an elderly person has died. Their next of kin has not yet been identified and no further information will be released at this time.

"The Serious Collision Unit is investigating."

The road which was closed for several hours has since reopened.
