Elderly man taken to hospital with 'head injuries' after 'serious collision' in Darlington

An elderly man was taken to hospital after a 'serious collision' in Darlington.

Durham Police posted on its Twitter page that they were dealing with a 'serious collision' on the A167 in Darlington just shortly after 7pm on Thursday, November 4.

The road was closed as officers at the scene dealt with the incident.

At around 11.20pm, officers confirmed that an 'elderly man' had been taken to hospital with 'head injuries'.

Officers thank the North Road community for their understanding while they deal with the incident.

In a post on the Durham Constabulary Twitter account: "Thank you to the North Road community, and users of the A167 in Darlington, for your understanding tonight while we sorted our collision scene this evening.

"One elderly male casualty off to hospital with head injuries."
