An elderly man was rushed to hospital after suffering a serious head injury in a two vehicle crash in Co Mayo.
The man, in his 70s, was taken to Mayo University Hospital after the collision which happened at around 9am on Saturday.
He was driving his car in the Ballintubber area of the county when the two cars collided. The other driver was also taken to hospital.
Gardai in Castlebar are investigating the road incident.

A garda spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror: "Gardai in Castlebar are investigating a 2 car collision that occurred in Ballintubber, Co Mayo on the 18 of May 2019 at approx. 9am.
"Both drivers were taken to Mayo University Hospital and one male (70s) received serious head injuries. Road was closed for Forensic collision investigators. Investigations are ongoing."
