An 86-year-old man has died after his car crashed near Yass on Thursday.
The accident happened early in the afternoon and no other vehicle was involved.
Passing motorists tried to help the driver but without success. He was airlifted to Canberra Hospital, but later died.
It is not known why he lost control of his car.

The NSW Police said: "Just after 2.20pm on Thursday, April 1, police were called to the Hume Highway at Oolong, about 20km east of Yass, following reports a Toyota Corolla had rolled.
"Following the arrival of emergency services, the man was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition, where he later died.
"Officers from The Hume Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
"A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner."
