An elderly man was bashed to death in a horror attack at a train station, it is reported.
Western Australia Police were called to the incident at suburban Queens Park train station, south east Perth, in the early hours of the morning.
The victim was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after emergency services were alerted at about 5.50am on Monday.
But sadly the man later died from his injuries.
Police told the Daily Mail they had been told the man had been assaulted.
The shocking incident is being investigated by homicide squad detectives.
"A man in his 50s is assisting detectives," a WA Police spokesman said.
A statement tweeted by Transperth earlier said: "Trains on the Armadale and Thornlie Lines are cancelled between Victoria Park and Armadale due to an incident.
"Replacement buses are running.
"Additional travel time is needed, as replacement buses may not connect with timetabled bus and train services. Thanks for your patience."
A later tweet said: "Trains on the Armadale and Thornlie Lines are now running but experiencing delays due to an incident.
"Trains will continue to run however they are not running to the regular schedule."
Trains have since returned to the normal timeline on the Armadale and Thornlie Lines.
