Elderly man attacked in China Town - police want to speak to this man

Police want to speak to the man in this CCTV image after an elderly man was assaulted in China Town.

Officers have charge a man following the attack but believe the individual pictured may have information that could help with their enquiries.

The assault is believed to have taken place just before 8am on Wednesday, October 7.

A man in his 70s suffered facial injuries after the attack on Faulkner Court, Faulkner Street.

"A man has been charged in connection with the incident but officers are keen to speak to the man in the picture as part of their enquiries", a GMP spokesman said.

Ian Adams, 46, of no fixed address, has been charged with public order, outraging public decency, criminal damage, theft and common assault.

He will next appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on November 5, police said.

Anyone with information or anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image is asked to call 0161 856 3221.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
