Detectives investigating an assault on a pensioner who was shoved over in a row in a west London bus queue have released a picture of a man they want to trace.
The victim, 85, was attempting to board a 220 bus at Hammersmith station when he was verbally abused before being pushed over and suffering a broken hip.
Police believe the incident at 1pm on July 2 was triggered by the pensioner insisting that women and children board the bus first which his attacker believed was holding others up.
They have been trawling through CCTV images from around the crime scene and issued an image of a man they want the public’s help to contact.
A police statement said: “On Tuesday, 2 July at around 13:00hrs, the victim, an 85-year-old man, was attempting to board the 220 bus at Hammersmith bus station.
“He stopped and held up other passengers behind him as he allowed women and children to board the bus first.
“The suspect appeared to take offence to this and began verbally abusing the victim before pushing him out of the way and causing him to fall.
“He was taken to hospital he was found to have broken his hip.”
