Elderly man and toddler rescued from thick sand as crowd watch race against tide

Emergency services have rescued a toddler and an elderly man, believed to be a relative, from Llanelli beach.

The pair had gotten into difficulty in thick sand at low tide and faced a race against time to be freed.

Thankfully they were swiftly rescued in front of a crowd of 100 people who had gathered at the scene.

Anthony Brain, who was at the scene, said the emergency services arrived quickly and calmly.
