An elderly Kilmarnock couple have been scammed out of a three-figure sum after a pair of conmen pretended to be council workers.
The 87-year-old woman and 89-year-old man, of Irvine Road, were targeted in their own home between 12noon and 1pm on Thursday, February 6.
Police say that one of the men distracted the couple while the other went into the home and stole cash.
One of the men was wearing a black puffa jacket, was around 6ft tall and had a stocky build. Anyone with information should call police on the non-emergency 101 number.
