Elderly cyclist tragically dies week after crash with parked lorry in Paulstown, Co Kilkenny

An elderly cyclist has died one week after crashing into a parked lorry in Co Kilkenny.

The man, in his 70s, was rushed to hospital after the collision last Tuesday, October 29.

The tragic incident happened at around 12.20pm in the Shankhill area of Paulstown.

He was taken to St Luke's General Hospital where he has now passed away.

Gardai have appealed for anyone with information and who may have footage of the collision to come forward.

A spokesman said: "A male cyclist, 70s, collided with a parked lorry and was taken to St Lukes General Hospital in serious condition. The man has since passed away.

"Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them, particularly any road users who may have camera footage available.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Gardaí at Thomastown on 056 7754150 or the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111."
