Elderly Cork man tragically killed by bull in farming incident named locally

The community of Ballinhassig and the wider Cork farming community are in shock after learning of the tragic passing of John Reynolds, who was killed in a farming incident on Saturday afternoon.

Senator Tim Lombard paid tribute to John, saying the family are well known and much regarded in the area, CorkBeo reports.

"It's a tragic event on a beautiful Saturday afternoon," Senator Lombard said. "Everyone would know John and his family and the community are in shock after the tragic incident.

"The family are very well known in the farming community and my sympathies are with the family at this very difficult time."

The 74-year-old was killed by a bull on the family farm while he was tending to livestock.

The tragic incident occurred in the afternoon, and he was pronounced dead shortly after 7pm at Cork University Hospital.

The incident is being treated as a tragic accident, and the Health and Safety Authority is working with Gardai in the investigation into the death.
