Elderly and partially sighted dog has muzzle tied by string in horrible attack by gang of teens in Shankill

An elderly and partially sighted dog who is familiar to locals of the Shankill area has had his muzzle tired in a horrible attack by a gang of teens.

Cheeko, who is 14-years-old, is often spotted wandering the streets near his home.

But the harmless terrier will now likely be confined to his home after the sickening and heartless attack.

Images of little Cheeko were shared on a social media page that aims to tackle cruelty against animals.

Shocking footage emerges showing aftermath of terrified pony after being impaled on neighbourhood fence spikes

They said: "Cheeko is a little dog who likes to have a wander round the streets close to his home. Last night however was different.

"A gang of youths surrounded Cheeko in the bushes and this is what they did to him. This could have had disastrous consequences as Cheeko is a 14-year-old dog who is partially sighted.

"Cheeko will now be confined to his home for his own safety sadly the same can't be said for the young lads who did this. More disgusting behaviour."
