Elder Scrolls Online Season Zero release date countdown

Elder Scrolls Online is ditching its traditional chapter model for seasons–bit-sized, new content drops that will be free for all players. The first in line is Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk, which introduces the new Night Market event zone, story quests, and a plethora of quality-of-life changes and improvements.

Season Zero marks a new era of ESO, one that changes how new content, activities, and changes are introduced. It also seems more player-friendly, what with the addition of Gold Coast Bazaar, a new in-game rewards store.

In short, there’s plenty to be curious about. As such, in this guide, we reveal when you can start playing Elder Scrolls Online Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk, and what you can expect from it.

Elder Scrolls Online Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk kicks off on April 2, 2026. Unlike Chapter updates, ESO seasons will be available simultaneously on all platforms. If you’re a console player like me, the good news is that you won’t have to wait a month to access new content.

Each ESO season will last three months, and Season Zero has been confirmed to end on July 8, 2026.

What to expect from Elder Scrolls Online Season Zero?

Elder Scrolls Online Season Zero will bring with it the game’s first-ever event zone, Night Market. It will appear in the Oblivion realm of Far Graves, where you can side with one of three unique factions and indulge in various PvE activities.

Season Zero will also introduce Tamriel Tomes, ESO’s take on traditional battle passes. There will be both free and paid versions of the Dawn and Dusk Tamriel Tomes. You can earn Tome Points by completing weekly and seasonal challenges, and use them to redeem rewards from the Tome pages.

The first ESO season will also make several gameplay additions, like a new Challenge difficulty for a more intense and rewarding overall experience. There’s also a new in-game home being added, which you can unlock by playing.

As for quality-of-life enhancements, one of the most notable changes includes core skill rework of the Dragonknight class and a visual overhaul of the Two-Handed weapon skill. The full scope of these changes is unclear right now, but more details should follow at the Seasons Direct showcase.

You could check out ESO‘s full 2026 roadmap on the game’s official website.

That’s everything you need to know about Elder Scrolls Online Season Zero.
