FromSoftware announced that Elden Ring is receiving a short delay to Feb. 25, 2022.
The wildly anticipated action RPG from the creators of Dark Souls was originally going to come out on Jan. 21, 2022. On Monday, however, FromSoftware said that the game needs a bit more development time.
“Elden Ring will release on Feb. 25, 2022, as the depth & strategic freedom of the game exceeded initial expectations,” FromSoftware said on Twitter. “Thank you for your trust and patience. We look forward to seeing you experience the game in the Closed Network Test in November.”

This news is a bit of a bummer, but ensuring Elden Ring is in a polished state is a good move by FromSoftware.
The Hype for Elden Ring stems not only from its developer’s pedigree, but that Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin helped create the game’s backstory and world.
