Elaine McArthur: Friend of missing Edinburgh midwife issues desperate plea for help

A friend of missing Edinburgh midwife Elaine McArthur has issued a desperate plea for help.

Carol Foy Robertson described her friend as "troubled" and "vulnerable" and said she was "desperately worried".

Elaine was reported missing on April 18.

She was last seen walking along Crew Road North at 12.40pm.

Carol posted to Facebook : "This is my friend Elaine McArthur. A nurse, midwife and nurse lecturer who has dedicated her life to the NHS.

"Elaine has been a bit troubled lately and is very vulnerable. Her family and friends are desperately worried about her.

"As far as we know she did not travel so the assumption is she is somewhere in the immediate area. Obviously group searching for her can’t be done because of Covid.

"Please share this post and call 101 quoting incident number ‘1604 of 18 April 2020’ if you have any information that might help us find Elaine."

Elaine is described as 5ft 2in, slim, and wears her blonde hair tied up.

She was last seen wearing a khaki green waterproof jacket, blue jeans, green trainers and was carrying a green rucksack.

The 48-year-old's son Harry revealed she was missing last weekend. He wrote on Twitter: "My mum has went missing in Edinburgh, and is extremely vulnerable. If you have any information please contact as quickly as possible. Any shares would be greatly appreciated."
