On Ibiza’s quiet western edge — well clear of the thrumming superclubs and over-Instagrammed hotspots — lies El Silencio, a barefoot-luxe beach enclave that’s quietly become the island’s most popular address with insiders.
Nestled in this bohemian crescent of Cala Molí, it’s a place where well-heeled creative types sip wasabi margaritas under wicker parasols. Where afternoons dissolve into candlelit dinners and sunsets are soundtracked by Balearic beats. Where, if you’re lucky, Charli xcx might just turn up and start performing.

Which, of course, she did. Last summer the pop provocateur slipped onto the makeshift stage by the pool and delivered an unannounced, unfussy set to a crowd of no more than 200. There was no RSVP, no PR campaign, no VIP barricade – just pure bratty vibes. It has since become the stuff of island folklore.
Founded by the team behind Paris’s cult Silencio club (yes, the one iconic American filmmaker David Lynch co-created), El Silencio has evolved into a beachside cultural salon — blending art, music, food and fashion with a rustic, sun-bleached elegance. There are sculptural installations by artists such as Miranda Makaroff and Samuel de Saboia. Vinyl-only DJ sets curated by Jaime Fiorito (son of Balearic beat pioneer DJ Alfredo). And a restaurant helmed by Mauro Colagreco, a three-Michelin-starred chef cooking grilled turbot and prawn carpaccio, feet-in-the-sand style.

So it tracks that Peggy Gou rang in her 34th birthday here this year, surrounded by close friends and music-world regulars, in what looked – at least on Instagram – like the most effortlessly stylish pool party of the summer. ‘It’ swimwear brand Hunza G also chose the spot to debut an exclusive capsule collection, headlined by the Faye swimsuit in a punchy lime green that has already been seen poolside on former Victoria Secret angel Toni Garrn. She was joined by model Jordan Barrett, Hunza G creative director Georgiana Hubbart and art director Cate Underwood for a laid-back day at the club earlier this month.

For the next few weeks, EDITION Hotels is hosting a pop-up named The Summer EDITION at El Silencio’s pool deck. This open-air residency blends hotel-levels of hospitality with cultural events, Japanese-Mediterranean dining and a rotating setlist of DJs playing until the early hours, but always at a decibel more conducive to conversation than chaos. There’s also the option of eco-catamaran sails and guests can enjoy curated cocktails, while ameneties come courtesy of trendy beauty brand Le Labo.
So much of Ibiza has been overdone, clubbed out, over-influenced. But El Silencio feels fresh and exciting. Like a secret whispered from one stylish friend to another. If you know, you go. If you go, you never really want to leave.
