The final novel in E L James’s trilogy retelling the Fifty Shades of Grey series from Christian Grey’s perspective will be released this summer.

Following the release of the hugely successful erotic novel series in 2011 and 2012, author James released a series of parallel novels told from the perspective of the male protagonist Christian Grey.

The first, Grey, was released in 2015, while Darker, based on Fifty Shades Darker was released in 2017.

Now, it has been announced that the final novel, Freed, will be released on 1 June to tell the story of the final book Fifty Shades Freed from Christians viewpoint. It will be published by Sourcebooks imprint Bloom Books.

“For me, just as for Anastasia Steele, Christian is a challenging, infuriating, and endlessly fascinating character,” James said of the new novel. “Living in his head is exhausting, but I got to explore aspects of his life in Freed that we only glimpsed in the original trilogy.”
