El-Hadji Diouf reignites Jamie Carragher feud over Liverpool career

El-Hadji Diouf has reignited his feud with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

The pair played together during their time at Anfield but have thrown insults each other's way in the years that followed.

Diouf has often been critical of Carragher and fellow Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard - insisting he does not have respect for either of them.

The Senegalese star, 38, spent just two seasons at Anfield while Sky Sports pundit Carragher made over 700 appearances for the club.

But Diouf has hit out at his former teammate and believes he was only given a chance at Liverpool because he was a local boy.

"He was a right-footed player with two left feet," Diouf told beIN Sports.

"If he wasn't a Scouser, a son of Liverpool, he would never have had the career he did."

Diouf left Liverpool for Bolton in 2004 and went on to have spells with Sunderland, Leeds and Blackburn before retiring in 2014.

Meanwhile, Carragher has dismissed Pep Guardiola's suggestions that the media want Liverpool to win the title.

Guardiola suggested there is a bias towards Liverpool from pundits and journalists but Carragher, despite wanting his former club to be champions, is having none of it.

"Having built my post-playing career as a TV and newspaper pundit, I can only speak personally about such an accusation and say this: Pep is right if he is including me in his list. I am desperate for Liverpool to lift the title," he writes in the Telegraph.

"I doubt this is a startling revelation. I played 737 games for Liverpool so it would be as pointless pretending where my allegiance lies."
