Ekin-Su's boyfriend Davide reacts to sexy Dancing on Ice routine which prompted Ofcom complaints

Davide Sanclimenti has jumped to the defence of his girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu after her Dancing on Ice performance resulted in a flurry of Ofcom complaints. The brunette bombshell, 28, looked incredible in a nude, tight-fitting leotard, which showed off her long legs - but some accused it of being "inappropriate" for a family show.

Ofcom, the UK's communications regulator, was soon met with hundreds of complaints as the star sent pulses racing on the ice. Ekin donned a very skimpy sequinned thong leotard as she then crawled around on her hands and knees to recreate her famous crawling moment from last year's Love Island.

Jumping to her defence, partner Davide - who stole hearts on the ITV2 reality series in the summer - appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday morning. Delving into her routine, the Italian heartthrob, 27, spoke of his delight in watching his beau on the show.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu drew complaints from ITV viewers who all agreed her outfit was 'inapproppriate' (ITV)

Speaking to Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, he said: "I believe that she smashed it. I was not surprised that she could actually, you know, dance on the ice or skate because I've been following her over the training.

"But what I was proud of was that she [came into] character and she did a very good performance. And now the fact that she's in the skate off, she's a bit sad, last night we had a long talk - but she's a strong woman and this now will push her to be better and better week by week."

His appearance on the breakfast show comes after Dancing on Ice fanatics complained that Ekin-Su's outfit was "too sexy" to be worn before the watershed. It wasn't a high scoring dance, with a mix of 5s and 6s which prompted boos from the audience in the studio.

Taking to Twitter, one person penned: "I'm no prude, but I was panicking that we were going to see what she had for breakfast there with that outfit." Echoing their comments, someone else said: "Isn't Dancing on Ice a family show? I thought she was about to start stripping!" While a third added: "Ekin-Su needs to understand that less is more."

The Love Island winner was left disappointed as she received the fewest public votes for her first performance with professional partner Brendyn Hatfield. She will now compete against next week's weakest skater in the bottom two.
