EK motorists told to expect delays as Stroud Road closes for repair works

Motorists can expect delays in East Kilbride next week as part of Stroud Road closes.

Residents have been advised this week that around half-a-mile of the main road will be closed-off for repair works.

That will see resurfacing works take place between Laburnum Avenue and Quarry Road.

In a letter issued this week, Martin Muir – area manager for the roads and transportation department of South Lanarkshire Council – said the works would start on Monday, May 13.

He added that these will last for four days until Friday, May 7.

His letter goes on: “Unfortunately, for safety reasons, Stroud Road requires to be closed for the duration of the works between Quarry Road and Laburnum Avenue, meaning there will only be vehicular access/egress,controlled by traffic lights, to some areas from one direction.”

Traffic light access to roads and estates leading off of Stroud Road will only be possible from the Lindsayfield site.
