'Ek audio ne mera waat laga diya hai': Rohit Sharma requests with folded hands to switch off camera audio

NEW DELHI: A video featuring Mumbai Indians' star batsman Rohit Sharma conversing with KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar garnered widespread attention ahead of the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens.

Rohit, in the video, despite a loud noise in the background, was heard saying: "Ek ek cheez change ho raha hai...Woh unke upar hai...Jo bhi hai woh mera ghar hai bhai, woh temple jo hai na maine banwaya hai." The last audible line in the chat was: "Bhai mera kya mera to ye last hai".

Rohit's dialogue sparked various reactions across social media, with many fans becoming emotional amid speculations that the IPL 2024 might mark Rohit's final season.

Just before the 2024 edition, Mumbai Indians announced Hardik Pandya as the new captain, replacing Rohit who guided MI to five title wins.

Following the video's viral spread, Rohit encountered a similar incident just before the match against Lucknow Super Giants.

Rohit was captured in conversation with former MI pacer Dhawal Kulkarni.

When Rohit noticed that someone was recording his video, Rohit folded his hands, requested, and said: "Bhai, audio band karo haan. Kasam se, ek audio ne mera waat laga diya hai".

WATCH:

Mumbai Indians are currently at the bottom of the points table.

The five-time champions have won just 4 matches in 13 matches in the tournament so far.
