The Players of the Provinces from the EirGrid Under-20 Football Championship have been announced.
Tyrone’s Cormac Munroe, Galway’s Cathal Sweeney, Dublin’s Lorcan O’Dell and Kerry’s Ruaidhri O Beagloaich have been recognised after their counties’ victories in the Ulster, Connacht, Leinster and Munster Championships respectively.
Likewise, their team bosses, Paul Devlin (Tyrone), Donal O Fatharta (Galway), Tom Gray (Dublin) and John Sugrue (Kerry) have been selected as the Managers of the Provinces.
Following the regrading of the competition from under-21 to under-20, it’s just the third staging of the competition though it has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 outbreak, with the All-Ireland semi-finals still outstanding.
Last year’s finalists Dublin are due to meet Tyrone in the last four with Kerry and Galway pairing off in the other tie, after Sugrue’s side dumped out holders Cork in the Munster final.
The final was initially supposed to take place this Saturday but it’s anyone’s guess when the competition will be resumed.
