Eight year old child left in tears after woman throws 'hissy fit' in traffic in Beaumont

An eight-year-old child was left in tears after a "hysterical" woman threw a "hissy fit", screaming at the child and their mum while they sat in traffic in north Dublin.

The mum was sitting in traffic at a lollipop crossing in Beaumont this morning when the angry motorist began screaming and "moving her car forward aggressively" at the lollipop lady.

The road raging driver then roared through the window at the mum and her child because she claimed she hadn't moved quickly enough through the crossing.

The horrified mum shared details of the shocking rant on a local Residents' Association page this afternoon.

She said: "To the woman who threw a hissy fit in the traffic at the lollipop lady this morning, people were parked on a corner and I was struggling to get my car through.

"Firstly I hope you're ok. The way you behaved screaming, hand signaling, moving your car forward aggressively is worrying.

"Please be mindful that everyone is doing their best during this difficult time, your hysterical behaviour and your shouting and screaming in my car window as you passed because I wasn't quick enough for you left my eight-year-old in tears."

The caring mum did offer an olive branch though, hoping the furious driver had taken time to reflect on her awful behaviour.

She continued: "I hope you got to work on time and I hope when you get a quiet moment later that you think about how you behaved and perhaps think about how you can handle it differently next time.

"The anger that you spewed at myself and my child this morning was out of proportion and honestly uncalled for.

"Take care of yourself during these difficult times but most importantly learn to look after others too. It doesn't cost anything."
